"MAORI WORLDVIEW AND THE GOSPEL:

to what extent can the Gospel be contextualized into the matrix

of traditional Maori worldview, - particularly for the purpose of evangelism?"

This paper suggests that the current renaissance of maoritanga gives opportunity for new level of dialogue between the Gospel and Maori culture, and potential for a new kind of opportunity for evangelism and discipling.

Similarities between the traditional worldview of Maori and the Scripture are considered, prompting the thesis that there is basis for a more contextualized approach to mission to Maori than has usually been the pattern in the past.
